When I checked out the website
for myself at the suggestion of a Buy American Mention of the Week
subscriber and looked at the “About Schott” page to find that the first
words were “Made in the USA,” it gave me the idea that I was looking in the
right place.
Schott offers everything from
classic leather jackets and pants to winter coats. Not all items offered on
the site are made in the USA, but even if you are in the market for a winter
coat as winter is drawing closer, your chances of finding one that’s

than at a Burlington Coat Factory, for example.

are clearly marked as either “Imported” or “Made in USA” so there is no
question as to where the product you may be ordering comes from, but the
majority of the items on

are made just outside New York City at Schott’s 100 year old factory.
The company compares their
dedication to continue designing and producing in this country to connecting
with the American spirit. With so many leather jackets sporting “Made in
China” tags these days at prices that are through the roof compared to the
cost of the labor that must have gone into them, I couldn’t agree more.
